Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge at the Second Annual Palmetto Council Corporate Dodgeball Tournaments.  These double elimination tournaments will be held Saturday, October 2nd, 2010, for the Greater York County Tournament and Saturday, October 16th, 2010 for the Greater Spartanburg Tournament.

The Greater York County Tournament will take place on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 at Nation Ford High School just 2 miles East of I-77 at Exit 88 in Fort Mill, SC.

The Greater Spartanburg Tournament will take place on Saturday, October 16th, 2010 at the main campus of the University of South Carolina, Upstate at 800 University Way in Spartanburg, SC just off I-85.

No outside food or beverages will be allowed into the tournament, but there will be plenty of great food and drinks available for purchase throughout the tournament.  All concession proceeds will go to help at risk Scouts in the Palmetto Council.

Only 64 teams per location or 128 teams total will be accepted for the 2010 Corporate Tournaments. Tournament teams consist of 6 players to 10 players.  Team t-shirts/uniforms are encouraged. The tournaments will be in double elimination format. The tournaments will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 and again on Saturday, October 16th, 2010. Tournament rules will be based on NADA rules.  Rules will be applied by a team of Certified Professional Dodgeball Referees.  All rulings of these referees are final.

Teams from outside the greater York County and Spartanburg areas or from outside South Carolina who desire to sign up need to first contact Matt Spencer at mspencer@bsamail.org regarding their eligibility to sign up for these events.  This is an effort to give our hometown teams a fighting chance without having to worry about coming up against semi-pro teams.  We must have 10 or more “out of area” teams express interest in playing before they will be permitted to enter the tournament.  They will be moved to a separate division all their own and the first place prize will be $1000 and the second place prize will be $300 for that division only.

The tournaments are open to all businesses, civic groups, service clubs, college clubs, high schools, middle school teams and or groups of individuals. If the tournament consists of only a single division, the winning team will receive a $1,000 cash prize and the coveted “Golden Baller” trophy. The second place team will receive a $300 cash prize. For a team to be awarded prize money they must pay their initial registration fee (If a non-paying/donated team is sponsored by a business and is eligible for a cash prize, their initial registration fee will be subtracted from the prize money and the remaining prize money will be awarded to that winning team).

The entry fee is $300 per corporate team, $200 per non-profit team or middle school / high school/college team. All proceeds go to support at-risk Boy Scout youth in Greater York and Spartanburg Counties.

Participants must be 12 years of age or older to play.  Players under 14 years of age must have parental/guardian approval to participate.
